With IEA encaustiCon™ 2012, International Encaustic Artists is introducing a new extensive conference format for its seventh annual gathering. IEA encaustiCon 2012 will be held in San Antonio, Texas at The El Tropicano Hotel and The Southwest School of Art from Sept 6th-9th, 2012. Founded in 2005, IEA remains the oldest and largest professional membership organization for encaustic art, with over 450 member artists in thirty-four states in the U.S., five provinces in Canada, and artists in Mexico, Europe and Asia. Registration begins March 15. If you are interested, do not wait to register!

    TOFA Exhibit: Call for Art. Deadline July 31, 2012WaxCentric invites artists who use wax in all or part of their work to exhibit in our first St. Louis show at Tavern of Fine Arts, 313 Belt Avenue. St. Louis, MO. 63112. Central West End. The exhibit will be from September 1-November 30, 2012. Membership in WaxCentric is not required, but since it is free, why not join! Artists who live within Missouri, or live within 200 miles of St. Louis, MO may apply. Read all the details, dates and submission information!

What: Meet and greet. Bring a small piece of work that uses wax in the creation.
Who: Artists who share wax as a common point of creativity: hot or cold wax, smooth or chunky, 2D or 3D, on or off the wall, in combination with other mediums such as photography, fiber, painting, printmaking, book arts, jewelry, collage, and more.
